The Artists House
The last owner of this manor house was a painter and a potter, from what I could gather from various sources, his wife moved out to a residential home. There was still alot of posessions left in the ruined house, records of servants and household bills as well as artist materials, canvases and even clothes and shoes.
It was a wet winter day when we travelled down to sussex to visit this place, 2 muddy fields later and the house moved into view, the front of the house looked like a rubbish dump with a mound of rubble, household appliances and even an old upturned caravan.
Inside the damp and dark house, the floorboards had been ripped up, probably to get to the copper wiring and in some rooms the light was only just managing to get in through the boarded up windows.
The house was up for sale at the time that we visited but it really would take some work to get it back to a livable state, more than likely it would be another grand old buildings that would be ripped down and replaced with characterless semi's.
