The Detroit Diaries

in the first half of the 20th century, Detroit was the booming epicentre of US automotive industry, people were drawn to the city and to the jobs that it created, in 1950 the population was over 1.8 million, more than twice the number that inhabit the city today. The decline of the US auto industry has left the great factories and busy production lines derelict and abandoned preyed on by scrappers who have ripped out their metal veins and inner skeletons almost to the point of collapse.

Ive split the diaries up for easier reading.
